We, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 9663, would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your generous support of our countries veterans and the men and women who are currently fighting the war on terrorism to preserve the freedom we so dearly cherish. It is people like you and your crew that help make this country the greatest nation in the world.
|
Contributing a portion of your profit, derived form sales during the entire month of July, is a most generous gift toward the support of our troops deployed in the defense against terrorism. This contribution will be put toward, “Operation Up Link”, the purchase of pre-paid Phone Cards to be distributed among our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere in the mid-east to enable them to maintain contact with their families by telephone during their deployment. Returning personnel have said this is one of the best forms of support they’ve received from home.
|
On behalf of our entire Post, we would also like to thank you for including two of our members in the group of veterans that were hosted by the American Lady for a Hot Lunch Cruise on July 1, 2006. According to their report on the event, they thoroughly enjoyed the cruise, you have an outstanding crew and the food was excellent. Thanks again for your support for our veterans. God Bless America.

I would like to thank the owners and staff of the American Yacht Cruises for their generosity and support shown by you to the Veterans of the Tri-State area. The cruise and luncheon provided to our detachment on Saturday, July 1st, was greatly appreciated.

Our first trip to Dubuque, Iowa provided a day that we'll always remember. There's no question that the best way to see this charming town is aboard the American Lady. The cruise was very pleasant, from the kind and helpful staff to the beautiful scenery along the Mississippi River. We felt free to roam around the entire boat and even visit the captain! We really feel that a visit to Dubuque would not be complete without a ride down the Mississippi aboard the American Lady. We look forward to returning!

One Saturday morning, my boyfriend and I went on a 4-hour canoe trip on the Upper Iowa River. Afterwards we headed for Dubuque, arriving in time to board the American Lady Yacht for their Cocktail Pizza Cruise. It was an hour and a half of cruising the Mississippi while consuming all the pizza and beer we wanted. What fun! The ship is a beautiful, refurbished, luxurious Skipperliner with air-conditioned main salon, an upper deck admiral's salon, and a large open-air deck. It has a full service bar and galley and a grand staircase. The American Lady is located at the Dubuque Yacht Basin, which is across the street from the Dubuque Greyhound Park. They offer a variety of cruises lunch, dinner, fall foliage, champagne brunch, etc.

| I really can’t imagine a more enjoyable way to take in the beauty of the Mississippi! It’s probably a good thing that the other passengers didn’t know that Captain Mike, who encourages patrons to come visit him in the wheelhouse, actually let me steer the yacht for a while and blow the horn! |

I recommend heading for Dubuque next weekend. Canoeing, plus the ride on the American Lady, makes for a perfect day of river adventure. The American Lady folks do ask that you make reservations - 563-557-9700. |
